  • Farmer’s granddaughter Rhian Jones spends any spare time she has farming alongside her husband, who keeps a flock of around 2,500 ewes and 300 suckler cows at the family      farm which also sells fertiliser and straw.   Rhian is also in charge of a holiday let, a lucrative diversification project she is proud to have instigated, handling all the management, finances and social media marketing herself.
  • For the last 10 years Rhian has enjoyed lecturing animal science subjects to 16-19 year old agriculture students at Coleg Llysfasi.   Before that she worked for Denbighshire County Council as an animal health enforcement officer.   Her lecturing role, which involves her assessing learner progress and helping people achieve their goals, both academically and in terms of career progression, and her hands-on business management experience, have given her life skills and knowledge she is now eager to put into practice as a new Agrisgôp leader!
  • A keen proponent of lifelong learning – Rhian has undertaken numerous short courses on topics ranging from mental health and teaching Welsh to animal health and vet meds  - you’ll find her commitment to personal development and willingness to encourage others to reach their potential inspiring.  Through her own career and voluntary activities, she has worked with many farmers willing to embrace modern technologies, monitor performance and diversify in innovative ways – all aspects she is keen to promote to her Agrisgôp group members.
  • Rhian also supports a number of rural organisations – the phrase ‘ask a busy person’ comes to mind!  As a volunteer and ‘regional champion’ for the DPJ Foundation - which supports mental wellbeing within rural communities; previous chairperson for Cylch Meithrin Rhuthin – she was responsible for budgetary controls and grant applications - and secretary of the Charmoise Hill Sheep Society – more social media marketing, she has undoubtedly got the skills, drive and energy to support farming families wanting to develop a new business idea or diversification enterprise.
  • A fluent Welsh speaker, good listener and with a very solid network of contacts throughout Wales, expect to be encouraged, inspired, and given the confidence and skills or knowledge you might need to ‘make things happen’ if Rhian is your Agrisgôp leader!
