Llanbrynmair, Powys

Farmer’s son Osian Jones is anticipating a journey of discovery, learning and friendship as he embarks on the Agri Academy Junior Programme.

Osian was brought up on his parents’ beef and sheep farm, Ystrad Fawr, and is currently a sixth form pupil at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen where he is studying Welsh, Geography, Product Design, and Agriculture.

He is an active member and press secretary at Llanbrynmair and Carno YFC where he enjoys various activities including stock judging and farm visits.

He also participates in community events including the local show and taking part in services at the Hen Gapel in Llanbrynmair.

Osian plans to further his studies at university, with land management among several career options he is currently considering.
At the Agri Academy Junior Programme, he is looking forward to broadening his horizons and meeting people with interests similar to his own.

He is eagerly anticipating the overseas visit to Holland in particular.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to learn a lot more about the farming methods in another country.’’
