Cadi Jones

Blaenporth, Ceredigion

Cadi Jones grew up immersed in agriculture and now has her own farming project – buying dairy-bred beef calves to rear and sell.

Cadi, who helped out on her grandparents’ farm when she was growing up and now lives on a farm in Ceredigion, is broadening her farming knowledge and skills by participating in Farming Connect courses and events.

She is currently studying for a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Agriculture at Coleg Gelli Aur.

As well as her calf rearing business, Cadi also two pet donkeys that she hopes to breed from.

She has been farming with her parents in Pantglas, a former dairy farm, for four years, and the family now run a suckler beef herd but are considering other options for the future of the business.

This was a reason why Cadi applied for a place on the Farming Connect Junior Academy.

“I want to use the skills and knowledge I gain to improve the efficiency of the farm and to help shape its future."

“I’m looking forward to gathering new ideas by seeing how other farmers do things, to help maximise the profitability of the farm.’’
