Ifan Huws

Welshpool, Powys

At just 26 years old, Ifan Huws is achieving what every aspiring young farmer dreams of as he has made the impressive leap into owning his own farm.

Ifan now produces silage and fat lambs on that holding while also having responsibility for his family’s upland sheep farm.

He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Agri with Farm Business Management from Harper Adams University, where he was named Student of the Year in 2019.

Since then he has worked at Noble Foods and has now taken up a role as the Agri Development Manager for UK and Europe at Better Origin, embarking on a journey to enable more farmers to enter the insect farming market through the company’s AI-powered container farms.

Ifan has embraced the opportunity to learn more about agriculture, as a member of Future Farmers of Wales, Farming Connect discussion groups, the YFC and Tesco Future Farmers.

As a member of the 2023 Farming Connect Business & Innovation Programme he is ambitious to continue that knowledge gathering journey.

“I am looking forward to meeting like-minded people to discuss business ideas and to see new things."

“The Agri Academy will be useful in challenging me on my ideas and strategy.’’
