Why are you an effective Advisor?

  • Emma has worked as an agricultural consultant for 5 years following graduating from Harper Adams University. She has worked with a variety of different farming businesses including dairy, arable, poultry, beef, and sheep. Emma also has practical experience from her family dairy farm.

  • Early in her career, Emma developed an interest in soils and nutrients, leading her to gain FACTS and BASIS Soil and Water qualifications. Emma works with a number of farmers to help maximise production of forages through effective soil and nutrient management along with helping to minimise environmental and economic losses.

  • Having a passion for sustainability, Emma works with both individual and groups of farmers to calculate their annual carbon footprints and develop plans to help reduce the emissions from the farming enterprises. These plans are developed to also increase efficiency, helping to create more sustainable and profitable businesses.      

  • Emma has supported farmers in planning and meeting the requirements of environmental regulations (such as Nitrate Vulnerable Zones) and is able to provide guidance on the Water Resources (Control of Agricultural Pollution)(Wales) Regulations 2021, helping farmers to be compliant with the regulations.

  • Emma has worked with farmers in preparing and monitoring budgets along with preparing successful grant applications.
